Meet Barbara McKenzie - Edmonton Psychologist
Barbara is a graduate of the University of Alberta. She completed a Master of Science in cognitive psychology and psychological assessment and became a registered psychologist in 1983. In 1991, Barb received her PhD in Counseling from the University of Alberta.
Meet Barbara McKenzie
Barb is a graduate of the University of Alberta where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Honors Psychology degree in 1979 and in 1983, a Master of Science in cognitive psychology and psychological assessment. She received her PhD in Counseling from the University of Alberta. More recently, Barb undertook completed a one-year school neuropsychology post-graduate certification program offered by the School Neuropsychology Institute, which was founded by Dr. Dan Miller.
Barb has provided psychological assessment and/or counseling services in psychiatric, forensic, school, military and university settings. Previously, she was the Director of Student Counseling Services at the University of Alberta, the Director of Client Services at the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton, a psychology consultant for Edmonton Public Schools and a psychologist for the Department of National Defence. She works with children and adults and specializes in the assessment and treatment of learning disabilities, ADHD, addictions, depression and PTSD. A fitness enthusiast, Barb also values time with her family, friends and her canine buddies.
